Shipping of goods is one of the main factors enabling your digital transformation and that will determine customer satisfaction when selling goods. The transparency of shipping rates, the unavailability of shipping services or package tracking are data that everybody expects to have. This highlights the need to integrate your carriers (FedEx, UPS, DHL, USPS, Post, etc.) into your own logistics system according to your specific mailing, shipping, and package management needs.

In the course of several projects carried out for multinationals and Swiss SMEs we have acquired a strong experience in the field of customized integration of logistics services. This allows our customers to set up multi-site, multi-user, and multi-carrier software solutions that enable them to pilot, manage and optimize their processes, to obtain productivity gains and to realize substantial savings.
During one of our projects for a multinational company, we have implemented a logistics solution that allows our client to manage all its shipments within Switzerland, to foreign countries and from abroad, including internal mailings.

The track and trace functionality allows seeing the status (and location) of goods in real-time in a totally transparent way, independently of the organization/system the parcel is located in.
We have addressed our clients' key challenges in three streams:

  1. Needs analysis (Blueprint)

  2. Legacy Back Office App Modernization

  3. Implementation of a mail management app

Blueprint

The Blueprint phase consists in three cyclical phases that lasted 4 weeks.
Understand: During this first step, our team immerses itself in the user's
daily work and tasks in order to better understand their needs, which the digital solution must answer.

Mail-Management Processes

Design: We then shape and design the user experience (or "UX") with the users, in an iterative way. In addition, we always ensure that the user experience is technically feasible within a reasonable time frame.

Digital Logistics

Implement: Finally, the implementation of the solution is estimated and planned, based on actionable and technical specifications and budgetary constraints.

App Modernization

Based on the blueprint, we made an evaluation of the existing legacy applications involved in logistic processes. We have defined a plan to modernize these applications and determine when it makes sense to port them to the Cloud.

Mail Management App

The blueprint showed that there was a need for a business application accessible to all users via the web and a mobile application to track internal mail.
In addition, a mobile (android) application running on a Zebra Mobile Scanner has been developed to be able to scan incoming and outgoing/delivered mail.

Logisitc-Zebra

Some of the key features we developed are:

  • Mass mailing to an entire department or to a specific employee profile
  • Onboarding shipment (standard shipment when a new employee joins and can not come on site - due to CoVid)
  • Definition of the deputy responsible for receiving confidential mailings
