Our client – a leading Swiss investment institution – is currently deploying new front, middle and back office systems to streamline their IT processes. This business transformation has been presenting an increasing number of challenges to the organisation. The CTO finally approached Open Web Technology to come up with a clear strategy supporting them on the implementation of their Enterprise Integration Architecture (EIA)


We followed a three-step approach in order to identify the optimal EIA solution: Step 1: Draw a system map and develop 4 end-to-end use cases This analysis not only helped us understand the client's integration needs, it also allowed us to set realistic objectives in terms of standardization, development, real-time transactions and monitoring. Step 2: Define the right setup Following this exercise we planned an architectural design which would support the interoperation between numerous systems, based on a number of selection criteria, taking into account both, the insight gained from our use cases as well as planned future information flows. Step 3: Evaluate the options available We then evaluated four integration platforms that would enable our client to move away from a point-to-point integration model to one which would allow for a standardized and easy to monitor data flow, as well as rapid integration of new systems.

Once implemented, the new architectural setup will not only have streamlined internal system integration, it will also have a significant impact on the speed new processes can be added.
