Situation

Our client, a leading telco organization approached us, looking for support on building their own Mobile Virtual Network Enabler (MVNE), a platform which would allow them to “rent out” their own mobile network to other operators.

Approach

With no existing infrastructure in place prior to our engagement, we had to start from scratch, defining our requirements, i.e. functionalities and technical setup, product and client lifecycles, as well as associated user interface. Following this exercise we chose to leverage an existing multi-brand/multi-channel platform and developed it to cater for multiple brands, channels, languages and MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) instances, all of them managed centrally. New virtual network operators would then be able to have immediate access to a fully functional website, sales funnel and self-care service, using a simple “plug-and-play” principle. This platform, however, would remain fully customizable, i.e. new operators can pick and choose which features they want to include, how they want to organize their product catalogue and order process, only to name a few.

Within less than a year's time, we built the entire infrastructure and supported our client on the rollout of Mobile Virtual Network Operators for three different brands. The same procedure of setting up an MVNO which would previously have taken over a year can now be completed in a few months. A new brand (based on an existing MVNO) can be launched in less than a month, and content and configurations can be added in real time. This is a huge step forward for our client, enabling them to broaden their customer base, access niches markets and realizing significant cost savings, using their network to full capacity.
